In this tutorial we look at the Sphere replicator shape option in Element 3D. The way this works is that the replicator itself is a sphere and depending on the number of instances of a particle you have in a scene, the more filled out the sphere will be.
Here are the different sections covered in this tutorial:
Using the sphere replicator
Adjusting the sphere properties
Adding rotations to particles
Using the particle look random rotation
If you are looking for more tutorials on Element 3D, I have a bunch available on my tutorials page.

Looking to learn about how to use the 3D Grid replicator in Element3D? You’re in the right spot.
Element3D has, without a doubt, changed the way I approach motion graphics. Coming from a video background, I got into Motion Graphics and animation because it looked fun, annnnd I didn’t know anyone who could do the kind of work I was looking for.
Are you looking to pick up Element3D but want to see how it works before purchase? If you are looking for a quick overview of how the interface and how it works with After Effects, heres a quick tutorial I put together about it.
I was recently testing the reflection and custom texture layers in Element3D inside After Effects. I wanted to create a quick 3D gallery, that I can swap out text and video and have it auto populate in each of the squares.
I’ve been doing these for a while- here’s a speed timelpase I did showing my process for creating a matte wipe in 3D with a flat 2D illustrator document.
Element 3d is a plugin for after effects which takes a lot of pain away from working with full 3d objects and scenes in after effect compositions. It’s had great success as more and more motion graphics artists are using programs like cinema 4d in their work for compositing and text based designs.
